  • iphone while lying sideways ( auto-rotation fix )

    http://www.freshapps.com/_img/iphone_apps/screenshot/862-200810310323595.jpg

sometimes in the middle of the night you wake up for no reason and there's nothing to do in the dark except use the iphone sitting next to your bed.

if you lie sideways and use your iphone on portrait (vertical) mode your auto-rotation kicks in. you rotate it to landscape (horizontal) and the auto-rotation kicks in again and your basically fucked both ways. no way to read the iphone while on your side, or so i thought....

if you rotate it one extra time, then it stays on landscape (horizontal) mode. now, you are physically holding the iphone in landscape and the screen is also showing in landscape mode.

kinda confusing to explain, just try it.

basically, rotate, rotate.... one extra rotation is the key to your salvation.

i was just watching the kardashians on e! and this one dude just sprayed windex over kim kardashians cupcakes. lol
he said that all of them would binge on it if they didn't. this way even if they threw it away, they can't go back and pick the food out of the trash.
and, the food is ruined forever. hahaha
i'm gonna try this next time.

  • the right tone of voice when feeling irritable

the solution for myself was soft tone of voice. when i'm sick or irritable, i try to mask my weakness by being louder and stronger. this energy is contagious and will be soon recycled back to me. this leads to needless conflict. so the whole day today.. i went super soft tone whether it be greeting or answering questions. 90% of the transactions were agreeable. i let the loud ones win. my attitude was that winning the "who is louder" and "who gets the last word in" contest was actually worthless. i'll chose my battle and only put effort into the ones that matter and that will actually lead to benefit to me if i win. the soft tone actually worked so well.. a girl i thought was really pretty opened up her candy she bought and offered it to me. and asked me which flavor i'd like. maybe gentle tone of voice is actually better than loud and vibrant. oh yea.. i decided on this new formula. go gentle voice on girls and children and weak men. go loud and vibrant on regular dudes and high testosterone women. adjusting tone to the situation. i think i am becoming more flexible in my options.

  • i'm toughening up.

the small shit occurrences don't bother me any more. it takes a lot to get me really furious now. this a sign of my growth.
the tens of thousands of cashier transactions have showed me that anything is possible, good things and bad. . and, it happens all the time.
i hadn't seen enough of life to decipher what is important and what is not. and i realize now that most of it is not important. not imporant enough to let it effect me in a negative way. before any transgression of what i consider "normal" or part of the my moral system and i would get set off. but now that i've seen a lot of weird shit, i am not surprised by it. manners don't matter. as long as basic communication is occurring and there is no physical altercations, it's a peaceful situation. lol they can be loud. they can order me around. they can be rude. it doesn't matter, i've seen it all probably worse than whatever you are dishing out at me. it's all just another normal day of cashiering. i thank all the crude, rude, and impolite people for showing me that the small things don't really matter. and, anyone who makes a big deal about small things just haven't seen enough to notice that it's really not a big deal - whatever they are bitching about. and even if something somehow puts me out of balance, bring it, and bring it some more... it will only make me stronger.

  • dude, these crazy martial artists are shouting at the top of their lungs on espn. they are holding swords as they do flips and spins. wtf is this. i like it. only thing i am scared of is that what if they lose grip of their weapon, that thing can fly into the audience. i hope they are fake. lol

  • they threw me into the manager position

it sucks. being a manager is the worst choice because it's constant conscious activity. you can't be in vegetation-mode and just auto-pilot like cashiering. you have to deal with the most irate customers. you have to deal with underling personalities. like, if they don't like the way you ordered them around, they can hold a grudge against you. and, who knows in what form their revenge will come. fuck that. they don't pay enough for that shit.
and, just when i got tossed into the position. three things went wrong. 1 cashier goes to lunch. i'm left with only 2. then, i am supposed to have jewelry, cart attendant, and photo people as back-ups. jewelry chick goes to lunch. cart attendant gets stuck in food avenue because the lady has to cook pizzas. and the photo lady bails and goes to the offices for whatever bullshit reason she has to get out of cashiering. lol omg.. so i'm left to seek out back up cashiers from the main floor. and, these people don't want to cashier either. so, it's difficult to get them there. fucking bullshit. so i did what i could but noone comes to help so i call for the main manager to help out. and she gets people, but they leave after a few minutes. finally fed up with seeing customers line getting really long, so i hop back on to a lane. lol now, i'm stuck cashiering and can't really get out. at this point, my manager comes back and takes over. LOL fucked up. i am hoping they never make me manager again.

oh yea another thing... this one vietnamese lady brought me a plastic bag full of apples while all this was going on. i told my manager about it and she told me throw them away because we are not allowed to accept gifts from guests. sucks.

  • smuggling cell phones into prisons

if people can smuggle drugs into prisons, then it should be relatively easy to smuggle cell phones into prisons.
if it is an iphone they will have total internet access and be able to talk to anyone at any time.
that means leaders of gangs can actually control the outside with the cell phone without any cryptic messaging.
this can be a problem for law enforcement.
actually, it's the corrupted law enforcement officials who are getting paid $500 a pop to smuggle cell phones into the hands of the imprisoned, that are the real problem.

  • split seconds of honest living

i see split seconds of honest living at random times lately.
like moments when my soul is totally unhidden and just out there.
    basically, no inhibitions.
i can tell, that's the right way to live.
and, if i can live like that all the time, my life would be totally changed.
