  • yesss i can actually do things on the net without having to reload the page 10 times... life is better.

  • netgear wgr614v9 problem resolved

problem: i had an internet connection, but some of the webpages weren't loading and all jpegs uploaded were corrupted. using xp, wired connection.

solution: the automatic firmware upgrade wasn't detecting the latest firmware version. i went to netgear.com and manually downloaded the latest firmware version for wgr614v9. i re-flashed the firmware, and now the problems have been resolved. i can upload pictures without the images becoming garbled, corrupted, distorted.

the problem is resolved without adjusting the mtu. leave it at 1500.
the problem is resolved without disabling spi. keep it on.

    firmware upgraded to: WGR614v9-V1.2.24_37.0.35NA.chk

i think this might actually be a downgrade because what doesn't make sense is that the original firmware version number was more advanced than this one. but, on the netgear website, it is listed as the most recent. wth right? this is why the router could not detect a newer firmware because the factory installed one was maybe numbered incorrectly. v1.2.6 or something.

2 days! to figure this out.
first i thought it was a browser issue, tcp/ip, dhcp, windows xp issue, maybe it had to do with gmail or xanga? a virus? spyware? downloaded spybot search and destroy... perhaps i have to reinstall windows? omg...
last place to check was the router because it was brand new and shouldn't be causing me problems.
oh well, hope this helps someone out there.

  • omg it's fixed... it was the wireless router... when i bypassed it and went directly from cable modem to pc... it worked!

2 days of this bullshit... i needed to upgrade the router's firmware to the latest. i'm tired. but, now the pictures aren't corrupt.

  • omg this photo upload problem is driving me nuts!!!!

  • fuck

i want to go to venice and take pics....
but even if i take pics, i can't post them here or anywhere.
whenever i upload pictures it becomes garbled.
wtf... i need to fix this.

  • time management

this money budgeting has gotten me thinking about time management.
maybe i can break my day down into different categories.
    1. indoor
    2. outdoor
    a. work/chores
    b. enjoyment.

50% of the day indoor, 50% outdoor.
    50% work/chores, 50% on enjoyment.

  • i'm on a financial budget

    i'm on a budget, i'm on a budget, i'm on a budget.....
    i actually have an allowance....
    it feels GOOD!
the guilt over spending is gone!!!!

i was actually spending some money although i have huge amounts of debt...
i felt guilty each time i used it because i know that money could be sent towards repayment.
but, a healthy budget consists of fulfilling 1. necessities 2. savings 3. enjoyment.
if any of the 3 are missing, it feels like fml status.

  • financial budget outline

awesome, i feel better about my finances tonight.

    70% to NECESSITIES
    1. GAS  (slightly unpredictable, around 100/mo)
    2. CAR INSURANCE
    3. DEBT REPAYMENT (minimum 300/mo)
    4. OIL CHANGE
    5. DMV RENEWAL
    6. ETC....

    30% FOR ENJOYMENT
    1. IPHONE monthly payment
    2. FAST FOOD, SNACKS
    3. WINE
    4. EXTRA GAS
    5. CABLE
    6. ETC.....

notes: feels good to have a certain amount just for enjoyment. any excess leftover, use to repay debt!

i have a small, set allowance for the next 3 weeks.

man, life feels a little different when you break it down like this.
it's less stressful and i don't feel guilty and guessing about what i spend.

i got the system above from the book, "all your worth" by a harvard woman.

they promote 50% to MUST HAVES, 30% to WANTS and 20% towards SAVINGS.

  • car wash

i washed my car today and noticed that i did a few things differently...

    1. filled bucket only 1/3 - this saves water, and the bucket becomes easy to move around because it is lighter.
    2. washed car in top down, down top motion - saves wasted movement opposed to top-down, top-down motion.
    3. i used the left over bubble water to wash my house windows. lol my windows are canuba-protected now. haha
    4. discovered i should designate a towel for washing and drying the extra dirty, oily areas. clean w/ clean, dirty w/ dirty.
    5. i think i washed my car in 10 minutes.
