  • Top 14 Tips for Preventing Canker Sores

    1. Refrain from eating abrasive, hard foods such as potato chips, pretzels, and toast. Most start as a minor cut inside the mouth and develop into the horrible sore.
    2. Don't overeat. Over-taxing the digestive system may cause sores.
    3. Regular use of non-alcoholic mouthwash may help prevent or reduce the frequency of sores.
    4. In some cases, switching toothpastes can prevent aphthous ulcers from occurring with research looking at the role of sodium dodecyl sulfate (sometimes called sodium lauryl sulfate, or with the acronymes SDS or SLS), a detergent found in most toothpastes. Using toothpaste free of this compound has been found in several studies to help reduce the amount, size and recurrence of ulcers.
    5. Dental braces are a common physical trauma that can lead to aphthous ulcers and the dental bracket can be covered with wax to reduce abrasion of the mucosa.
    6. Zinc deficiency has been reported in people with recurrent aphthous ulcers. The few small studies looking into the role of zinc supplementation have mostly reported positive results particularly for those people with deficiency, although some research has found no therapeutic effect
    7. Many people report that the ulcers coincide with periods of stress. So, try to keep your stress levels low.
    8. Some of the nutritional deficiencies correlated with the presence of canker sores are B vitamins, zinc, folic acid and selenium.
    9. Canker sores are caused by our bodies' immune response, it makes sense that they can be triggered by food allergies. Any substance that contacts the oral tissues may lead to an over-stimulated immune response.
    10. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), beta blockers, and chemotherapy may increase the frequency of canker sores
    11. Include yogurt and other cultured, soured dairy products in your diet.
    12. Avoid tobacco, chewing gum, and lozenges.
    13. Eat salads and raw onions.

    Healing
What I found that works for me: After meals, wash out your mouth thoroughly with water, brush your teeth, then use mouthwash generously. After doing this apply hydrogen peroxide on the sore. Basically keeping the mouth and sore area as clean as possible will accelerate the rate of healing. Before my sores could last up to 2 weeks, but after starting this method, they usually heal in less than 4 days. Also, I take high dose of vitamin C as well.

  • top 12 swoopo strategies & tips

    1. wait till last 1 second to bid, this will save you hundreds of bids. (if there is a lag, this strategy may fail.)
    2. be informed as possible about the product you are bidding for. research a months worth of statistics for the particular item you want and see what time and price is most popular.  you can find the data in the top left drop-down menu.
    3. late night bidding maybe less competitive because who wants to be up at 3am?
    4. bid on items with few bidders. the less competition the better.
    5. stay away from auctions with many bidders.
    6. stay away from auctions with multiple bid-butlers. (some bidbutlers will keep bidding until full price of the item.)
    7. use the least bids possible.
    8. don't bid for popular items that are currently hot in the market. everyone will want it and flock to bid for it.
    9. estimate the number of active bidders and look for the ones with only 2-3 of them.
    10. don't invest too heavily into this game, it is basically like gambling.
    11. only buy one bid pack, and if that goes well you will be playing only on profits. otherwise, cut your losses and don't get addicted.
    12. never let the cost of your bids outweigh the actual product.

  • DEVap – 90% More Efficient Air Conditioner

    http://www.impactlab.com/2010/06/18/devap-90-more-efficient-air-conditioner/

"The US National Renewable Energy Laboratory has announced that it has developed a new method for air conditioning that reduces energy use by 50-90%. The DEVap system (Desiccant-Enhanced eVaporative air conditioner) cools air using evaporative cooling, which is not new, but combines the process with a liquid dessicant for pulling the water vapor out of the cooled air stream. The liquid dessicant, a very strong aqueous solution of lithium chloride or sodium chloride, is separated from the air stream by a permeable hydrophobic membrane. Heat is later used to evaporate water vapor back out — heat that can come from a variety of sources such as solar or natural gas. The dessicants are, compared to typical refrigerants like HCFCs, relatively benign on the environment."

  • canker sores

i think a majority of canker sores are created from a little damage to the skin in the mouth. this comes from biting the skin by yourself or eating abrasive foods such as potato chips, tortillas, toast, anything rough enough to create a little cut in the mouth. i realized this after the day i ate 2 bags of doritos and sun chips. i think the main problem is it taste so damn good that you eat it really fast and munch on it without thinking about the repercussions. so i decided to see if i can avoid abrasive foods from now on. if i do eat them, to break them down small enough before eating it. hope this helps someone out there someday.

  • soups for diet and better digestion

    http://www.w-healthy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/healthy-soup-recipes.jpg
so, i was trying salads for every dinner and have lost about 3-4 pounds. but, after a while i realized that if you eat a lot of salad it is still sorta harsh on the digestive system. so i thought about it some and came to the conclusions that i will include soups in my diet. i will prepare my soups with the healthiest ingredients and make sure most of it is already pre-shredded so my digestive system does minimal work. i should have thought of this before. but, i think this soup strategy will improve my health my a large margin.

    soups are:

    1. easy on digestion
    2. simple to prepare
    3. healthy depending on ingredients
    4. if only vegetables, it's non-fattening.

to me healthy digestive system means:

    1. quicker mind
    2. healthier looking face
    3. better mood
    4. over-all sense of well being.

all of the above lead to higher self-confidence.

    soups for life!

since i work out i will need protein so maybe i can include eggs and shredded chicken and shredded fish in my soups too.
