annoying customer....
while cashiering today i got this line from a lady....
"i've been here for 48 years. we own this country, boooooy. my family has been here for 3 generations, we built this country!!!"
an old white lady in her 50s said this to me today. i just said, "oh, ok" lol
i really didn't do much against her, to provoke it.. she must have felt threatened by me somehow.
you know when obama took office i was thinking how some of these types of white people would take it. they must be seething inside.
i know they been in absolute power for so long. now, the president is black. and, in california caucasians are the minority. hispanic outnumber them now.
so, it makes sense that these types of comments come out from the weaker group members. it's really a sign of weakness.
i told my white manager about it. and she said, maybe she's pissed off because an asian driver bumped her car or something. LOL

@frozencherries - cool thing is, it didn't bother me at all. i think i'm getting thicker skin. but, i told all my co-workers about it.
@mooks_dayoo - yeah, what some old racist broad, who probably hates her life, says shouldn't matter one bit.

Hope this won't be taken wrong, I know the US are a fairly New Country but 3 generations? And she's bragging? Seems like nothing to me, I was born in Europe I don't even know how far my family's been in my home country. Anyway, I don't see how "family history" would matter more than anything else in "citizenship" concept.

@mysterygirl3000 - i think it was just this "particular american." there are some really cool americans out there. oh yea, i'm actually asian.. japanese-american to be exact. i just want to become rich like p.ditty that's why i'm using his pic. lol also, she called me boy.. maybe she thought i waas 18. a lot of people misjudge my age. maybe she took offense of my age aura because she thought i was a kid. i'm actually in my early 30s.
@mooks_dayoo - lol maybe she said boy because she's an old disrespectful lady who thinks she's the center of the world and you're an employee. Not necessarily age related. idk
I can't say I have never had a comment of this nature, which is surprising considering where I live. Good thing i didn't bother you.

@ccarothers - actually i enjoyed the shock value of such an out of the blue comment. i enjoyed sharing it with my co-workers and blogging about it too.
