  • let’s say you know something that benefits you somehow. and, it can benefit others.

but, if you share it, then you lose your advantage.

is it right for me to keep it to myself? or should i be sharing it with friends so they can improve too?

but, if i share it, they may become better than me.

  • dilemma. Its depends how much sharing it can affect the benifit. it would be fair to share especially if you think you can exploit this better than others, then you still have an advantage. idk. boy, i’m really wondering what you’re talking about…sounds interesting.

  • This is a question I come across when breeding snakes. Which might confuse you, but let me explain.

In the herp hobby there are beautiful morphs of snakes which can create a lot of money. [Check out this snake] Basically the more of a freak your snake is, the more money you can get. I’ve seen snakes for sale that are worth $30,000+! That’s insane. There are people coming up with new morphs every day. Some are found in the wild and some are created when you breed two snakes together.

Me & my So have gotten into breeding and we’ve asked each other if we bred our snakes together and came up with a brand new morph that no one has ever seen before, to we tell the herp world what we have created so they too can create this snake? Or do we keep it to ourselves until babies are born? Do we sell that snake to get a lot of money or wait for it to get older?

I’m sure this has NOTHING to do with what you were asking about, but this is the delema I have with the question you asked.

I’m a very proud person so I’d most likely show off. I wouldn’t tell anyone and know I was better than them. If they asked then I might tell them, if they were worthy.

If it was my snake delema, well then I don’t know what I’d do.

  • @mysterygirl3000 - this type of situation actually happens all the time around me. i find out something, but, if i share it with others it will undermine my upper status. and, usually if i reveal it… i regret it later. so, i guess i should just keep it to myself.

  • @GiantUnicorn - maybe the wisest people just keep it to themselves and control their urge to show it off or share. they exploit the profitability as long as possible and only reveal it if it no longer is a benefit to them. this is probably the smartest and self-interested path. and, reveal only to those who can benefit without getting in the way of your own profitability. hey, u helped me think this out, thanks!

  • One should give not expecting anything back.

  • share it, when you improve others, you also improve, while they will also help you improve in the future.

i got to where i am mostly by helping people, they help me after, or i help them and i realiezed by helping them i leanred something myself.

  • @mtking - cool, that’s good advice. the above was just about sharing lumosity.com with friends. the shit really works.
