  • i just read that you shouldn’t kill a fever because it kills viruses.

then, made me think about global warming. maybe the earth is having a fever and a symptom of a healthy immune system.

it’s trying to get rid of what is fucking itself up.

  • That’s basically the Gaia hypothesis.   Some people mean it literally, that the earth is a living thing which is intentionally and actively trying to remove the parasites (us) from its surface.

Of course, you can also mean it metaphorically, that the earth is LIKE an organism in that it tends to balance itself out.   This is hopeful in a way, because it means that the earth, if left alone, will eventually correct for things like global warming and cool down again.   However, that does not mean we will live through the process.

  • @jenessa1889 - that’s some cool insight, thanks.

  • Hm.  It’s a thought.  Funny thing about a fever though, if you let it go too long (or get to high) it fries your brain.  You can die from bad fevers.  The thought about the earth was a very interesting one.  Made me wonder.

  • this is awesome. never thought abt it like this. but I mean….the earth to me is a living thing. And she will correct itself. whether it results with us still living on it?? ehh….i guess thats all up to the Big Man upstairs.

  • Interesting thought.  Then again, if you were in Canada right now, you’d say global warming is a load of shit, -28C weather isn’t warm!  =P

  • @sexncookies - yep, it’s up to chance.

  • @haloed - it was 75 here in los angeles. :P

  • thanks for the food for thought.

  • Interesting theory. Especially with all the bad stuff we’ve been doing to the earth, it makes sense that we could be considered a virus. :o

  • LOL! This is the best thing I’ve read today XD
