hmmmm... so recently i've been getting my asskicked energy-wise by this co-worker at ?arget. i didn't understand where all the confidence was coming from. his walk has a little swagger that i didn't understand. and, it threw me off. yesterday i was watching godfather part 1 on cable. there was a scene where al pacino is walking across the country in sicily where he fled after killing the police chief in that restaurant. anyways in this scene he is walking really relaxed, but looking a little strange in motion. i remembered by friend in college used to walk like that. i thought oh, maybe he copied al pacino either subconsicouly or consiously. he was mimicking al pacino's swagger. then, in another scene, al pacino had a distinctive swagger and i realized it was the same swagger as my co-worker.....
so this has me thinking, people can mimic the strengths of others. you don't even have to be the true source of that strength or swagger, as long as you mimic good enough, the beneficial functions are there. that's nuts.
so this can be true of the opposite, you can mimic the weakness of others too - consciously or subconsciously.
that's kinda scary, so you are picking up all these behaviors subconsciously from all over the place. you are mimicking people's strengths and weaknesses, consciously and subconsciously.
which leads me to think, it's best to be around and observe and copy those people with strength and success and intelligence.
because, without even knowing it.. their functions may become yours.

thats an interesting perspective, I never thought of it like that, although I have witnessed how people can change after hanging around with different groups and becoming more like them and their ways.
@YOUNGAZNTIGER - yep, it's for sure... if you hang out with a certain type of group, their characteristics will become yours, before you even realize it. even if you totally believe you would never be like them. i've seen it happen to myself.
as well as myself, lol, products of our environments
