  • i'm getting u-verse from att. i can't wait to use the dvr. i'm gonna hide it in my room and let my father use the 2ndary receiver in his room. my dad won't even know how to use it anyways. i went into att today to buy my dad a new phone. ended up getting their cable tv & internet service too. i had been quite frustrated with the 10 meg cable connection. it works really fast in the morning. but someone in my area is a bitttorrent motherfucker so it would slow down to a crawl most of the day. so basically, i will be paying about the same or maybe +$7/mo. it's worth it because i will have the dvr which can record 4 channels at once and 235 hours storage. huge change. also, the internet service will come down to 6 megs, but it will be fibre optics so hopefully more consistent than my 10 meg cable. i'd rather have 6 megs all day long, than 10 megs only in the morning. also, the deal comes with $175 cash back. So, even if i hate the service and stop in 2 months.. att basically paid for it. neat deal. most areas don't have att uverse yet, but luckily alhambra has it. cool deal. oh yea, the att internet service comes with wifi access to hotspots like mcdonalds & starbucks. cool free feature. i need to get a device that can use wifi.
