Time Management from the Inside Out - Julie Morgenstern (notes)
good time management = identifying what is important to you and giving those activities a place in your schedule.
designing a life that is custom fit for your, based on your goals, your style, your way.
7 tools for time management
1. time assessment
answer following:
a. I spend too much time on...
b. I wish I had more time for...
c. I procrastinate whenever I have to ...
d. If I had a 25th hour, I would spend it on...2. How long will it take to do each of the items on your To Do List.
xx batch similar tasks
xx multitasking doesn't work
xx to do list - add time estimate & when you will do each item3. Apply 4 D's
1. Delete (unimportant items)
2. Delay Somethings, reschedule for more appropriate time. ex. "id like to spend time w/ but on a different date"
3. Diminish (Save Time, Use shortcuts.)
Cut down on perfectionism.
Perfectionism only needed for 20% of things.
The rest should be done on a "good enough" basis" Select Perfectionism.
Shopping masterlist, sort shopping list in order of how the supermarket
is structured, you weave through supermarket in record time.
"do not forget checklist"
4. Delegate tasks.
IF you can find someone who can get the job done faster than you,
better than you or good enough, then pass the task down to other
people.
People like the feeling of being needed and being
appreciated, give them that opportunity instead of thinking of it as a
burden for others.
It creates a healthy co-dependence where you can reciprocate.4. Develop Big Picture
a. Simplify Life into 3-5 Categories.
b. Define Goals for Each Category
c. Select Activities to attain this goal.
x big picture goals = our values
x write goal out > goals become clearer > Vision is Clearer > All starts to happen.
x if you chose "maximize health" then your goal would be to get healthier. Exercise would be an activity under this category.
x "art of selectivity"
x ex. category "knowledge" (one topic per year, instead of cramming too much in.) easier when you are focused on one thing.5. Create a time map.
Write out current schedule.
Apply 4 D's.
Create, find pockets of available space.
Delete Unnecessary Activities.6. SPACE
S ort
P urge
A ssign
C ontainerize
E qualizex bullshit - wasn't helpful to me. it just seemed like she forced this acronym together.
7. Chose One Planner. Put all your todolists, schedules, etc.. in one place.
-> these are just notes, i'll let ya'll know if it actually works. i think i can walk away with a few useful ideas from what i can tell, even if i don't use the whole system 100%.

the donald.
dude, Donald Trump finally invested a part of his billions to upgrade his wig. I don't know how he pulled it off, but the thing had hella volume and was bright super-saiyajin
yellow. i was highly impressed. it's true, just like on tv, he's an asshole. but, it's the sort of assholishness that I can respect. He is direct, to the point and not afraid to tell it like it is. I wish I was more like that. I'm gonna try to be more like him. He is an hella horny old man too. 50% of the lecture was about sex and hot women. When a hot woman walked across the hall, he noticed her and asked her up to where he was speaking. I dunno if it was staged. But, it was entertaining. One thing I learned from him that is very basic, but useful, is to find the thing that I find enjoyment in. If I can find this, a new career and the money will follow naturally. Recently, I've really been into self-help and being heathful. I really enjoy this segment of experience, maybe I should focus more on it. And dude, the investment I made in December has been paying off since. I am out of brokedom and net positive in my checkings and savings account. I am so thankful for being able to make it out of the hole. I learned much while I was in there tho. I leaned to respect work & money and not take it for granted. I also now know how to be frugal and protect the money that I now have. Things are so different from a year ago when I started this blog. My life has been improved in personal relatonships, finance and health. My social skills are improving and my social anxiety is nearly gone. I won't forget all of you who were there for me at bottom. I will get y'all back in one form or another in the near term.
In the meantime, the improvements will continue in all aspects of my life and I will be thankful for it. muthafuckaz.
ohyeh, I borrowed a DVD from SMPL called, "Time Management from the Inside Out." by Julie Morgenstern. I'll let ya'll know if it's any good.

hugging strangers.
so today, i went to the learning annex wealth expo @ the LA Convention Center from 9am to 6pm. it cost me $50 bucks for 2 people. the OG price was $129 for 1 person and the VIP pass was over $300. i was not gonna attend this because the prices were too high for me, but when i exited thelearningannex.com it forced a pop-up on my screen asking $50 for 2 people. I thought it was a great deal. this morning when i checked it was down to $25. anyone who wants to go to this wealth expo, purchase your tix online 1 day before the event and you'll save hella money.
i asked alex to go, but he was busy so i decided to just go it alone. when i got there, near the registration area, i reunited w/ an old dorm friend from UCI, her name is cherry. can you say run-on sentence? we spent the whole day together checking out different seminars and keynote speakers. she had to leave at 3pm tho. i had to leave around the same time but i ditched work today. i hope my parents understand. i really wanted to see the keynote speaker - Anthony Robbins . his lecture lasted 3 hours! he made me hug strangers that were standing around me. he also had us jump up and down and yell at the top of our lungs. it was a pretty cool experience. i can tell now that i am really really far from my full potential, emotionallly. his method pulled some energy out of me i didn't know i had. i'm glad i went today, even though i went alone. victor just im'd me he wants me to be his wingman at some hip hop club, im gonna go do that now, everyone have a nice weekened!oh, yea... tomorrow im gonna go see donald trump at the same expo... he's gonna be there from 530-730pm'ish.

a lucky dinner takeout.
so, my dad asked me to go buy some KFC @ 730. he gave me $40. I asked for the 17pc special for 21.99, the total came out to about 24 & change. i slipped the cashier $40. he says, "do you have anything smaller like a $5 or a $10. we don't have change." i checked my wallet and i only had a $100 bill. i said, "i have a $100 bill but that will only make it worse, huh?" the cashier seemed troubled. the mexican kid in the back says, hey why don't you just sell it to him for $20. so, they sold it to me for $20. then both of them started bashing their manager and complained about how she doesnt leave them w/ enough change and how customers complain often. i said, "that's messed up." the 17p special didn't come w/ a drink, but the cashier slips me a super-sized cup and says, that's for you. in my head i am thinking, "wth." i fill the cup w/ pink lemonade and get back to the counter where my dinner-out is ready to go. the cashier hands me the bag and says, i put an extra box of muffins in there for you. i say, "i appreciate that, thanks." in my head i am very puzzled as to why they are treating me so nicely. i gave both KFC workers a fist to fist handshake and left the restaurant. i wonder what caused them to be so nice to me. maybe my redwine therapy is lightening up my personality, so strangers perceive me as a nice person? hm i don't know, but i am happy this happened to me tonight. yay.
