  • too-much-PC-dazed feeling.

    PC Life.

So I upgraded my PC from my old 2001, 1.4Ghz 512MB 80GB 64MBvideo, to a brand spanking new one. The computer wasn't that bad, it was getting most of the stuff I needed done, done. But I really really wanted to get my new 21" LCD monitor I won in a daytrader chatroom to go vertical.  And, the old box's specs wasn't allowing it. Thanks to Alex, I now have a 2006 P4 3.2Ghz 2G RAM 250GB 512MBvideo PC. I prolly spend about $500 on the PC itself. The processor is prolly isn't the fastest, but since I basically only use my XP PC to surf the net and download music & porn, and xanga.. this should suffice plenty. Oh hellzyea. I'm really dazed & confused tho, installing all the software and hardware has left my slightly retarded.  But I feel a sense of accomplishment. My desktop feels so much lighter and faster. I like it.

why can't it always be like this. it feels so good when the weather is warm. i bought some whole grain bread at costco @ alhambra and on the way back to my car, i felt this sense of warm fuzzy eurphoria like everything is alright. maybe it was the quercetin or alpha lipoic acid i bought at vitamin world at citadel outlet center. whatever it was it felt good. tomorrow's forecast looks like similar beautiful weather. life is good. :)

  • 6 weird things about me. (tagg)

    tagged by rtek1245

    the
rules: each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about
you. people who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird
things as well as state the rules clearly. In the end, you need to
choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. don't forget to
leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell
    them to read your blog.

    1. I measure my liquid/foods by bowls, not cups.

    2. My brain started functioning at age 29.

    3. The first time I drank alcohol was at age 16. On my birthday, I downed 10 shots of vodka and drank whiskey out of the bottle. After this incident I could never drink alcohol again. But I started up again at age 30. Now, I drink 1 shot of red wine a night.

    4. I spent the years 2003-2006, living in a Yahoo Japan chatroom.

    5. I was league champion pole vaulter in my senior year in highschool. My final vault was at the CIF final preliminaries, my hands slipped and I flipped into the pit at high speed.

    6. From 2003-2006 I was a fatass weighing in at 185 pds. (5 feet 9.5) Now, I work out and weigh about 150 pounds, my body is now like Men's Health model. (i wish... soon anyways.)

    7. During my 5th grade summer, I was in Hiroshima, Japan. I burned my face in an explosion and was hospitalized for 3 months. My hospital roommate was a Japanese Yakuza Gangster.

    8. Wait, the instructions were to write 6 weird things about myself. Fuck it, I'm on a roll. I'm stopping at 10.

    9. I once made 48k in 2 hours on a pennystock. I also had a promissory note worth 500k. Both amounts disappeared from my ownership in one stroke, somewhere near the year 2001.

    10. My favorite vegetable is the psilocybin mushroom.

I tag: blackapron, rizzlgirl, beeflolo, misterlouie, irenium, jae.

  • omuletsu

greenonionb I just made my first successful vegetable omelette. I think this is the first time I successfully spelled the word, omelette , correctly too. Anyways, I am discovering that for every cup of vegetable, 2 eggs are necessary. Also, having generous amounts of virgin olive oil on the pan makes it easier because the egg doesn't stick. I don't have the skill of flipping stuff over on the pan down yet, so I just folded the 2 sides to form the omelette. And, I made sure the vegetables were thinly sliced enough so that the egg could form solidly without too many breaks in between. Vegetables included were carrots, shiitake mushrooms, onion, spinach, cabbage, daikon, garlic, ginger, sweet pea, and enoki. I don't use recipes, I think I am developing into an "nandemoari" an "everything-goes" ingredients type of cook. Taste might suffer a little, but this style of cooking gives births to all types of new combinations. Very international, very no rules. Except one rule, the ingredients have to be healthy. Eventually I will start learning ready-made recipes, but for now, I like experimenting w/ trial and error. It feels like the lessons learned are more real this way. Maybe it's just because I want to make sure I use up all the vegetables in my fridge and not let anything go to waste. Either way, I'm finding cooking to be fun. Rock on & you don't stop, negi (green onion).

  • Google Sidebar, SideSalad.

sidebar_refreshDude, you need to install the google sidebar. It really rocks. http://desktop.google.com/
I have weather, time, gmail watcher, scratch pad, to do list, calendar, photo, notebook and google calendar installed. It's so nice. You'll like it. No wasted time pulling up diff. sites & software.. everything in one place, easily accessible. It's the best.

Today I went to the Santa Monica Public Library once again and borrowed 3 books on healthy eating. One of the books said that eating numerous small meals a day, like 5 of them, is better than 3 large meals. This is great news for me because 3 meals at 2-3bowls wasn't enough. My 2 bowl strategy was plenty when I wasn't working out. But now that I am gaining muscle, I need to EAT! So, I'm upgrading my 2-2-2 bowl strategy to 2-2-2-2. Yesss... 2 bowls of food, 4 times a day. 2x4! Heaven. I will also allow myself 2 snacks of fruits, grain, yogurt as well. Heaven. Life is good.

  • Wild Blueberries.

Bought 3 pounds of frozen wild blueberries at Costco. OMG they taste really good. I can think of so many combinations of dishes and desserts this fruit can be tossed into. Thinking about making a smoothie w/ banana, blueberry, yogurt and a little orange. How's that? Can't wait. Check out the info on Blueberries below. You will like what you read. They are the best. :) Live long and prosper.

Blueberries, especially wild species, contain antioxidants which have been found to reduce the risks of some cancers.
Researchers in PEI (Canada) have shown that the tannins in blueberries
are very active at lowering a protein involved in metastasis of cancer,
at least in isolated cells (Matchett and others, 2005). At the 2004
    International Conference on Longevity,
a group of researchers released details of a study that suggests
certain compounds found in blueberries (and some similar fruits,
including cranberries) have a significant impact in reducing the degradation of brain function, as in Alzheimer's Disease and other conditions ([1], [2]). Feeding blueberries to animals lowers stroke damage (Sweeney). Research at Rutgers http://aesop.rutgers.edu/~bluecran/medicinalgeneralinfopage.htm]
has also shown that blueberries may help prevent urinary tract
infections. Additional studies also found that blueberries were better
at lowering cholesterol and lipid levels in the blood, which help
alleviate and even reverse signs and symptoms of heart disease. Ciprofibrate was found to be inferior to the blueberries in lowering cholesterol. The signs point to pterostilbene, which signal cells to break down lipids and cholesterol.[3] All of these studies were conducted using high bush, hybrid cultivars of blueberries. A more recent study [citation needed]
has tentatively found that anti-oxidants may be higher in lowbush
blueberries than in highbush blueberries. The study is flawed in that
it does not specify which of the many unique and diverse cultivars of
high bush blueberries were used for the comparison or even where the
blueberries were grown. The soil where the blueberries were grown
impacts the composition of the minerals present.

140 grams of fresh blueberries contain 3 g of fibre [4]. Additionally blueberries are high in manganese as well as vitamin k and have a very low glycemic load (3) in a single 155g serving, making it an ideal food for diabetics. [5]
