• My voice.

  I always knew my voice was little on the gentle side. I did not put much attention on this fact until I started to talk in the voice chatrooms. On several occassions people have said straight up that my voice sounds gay! It pissed me off initially but I realized it's a good thing. I can improve my voice with effort and practice.  I 'm reading a book I ordered online called, "Change your voice, Change your life.. A Quick, Simple Plan For Finding & Using Your Natural, Dynamic Voice."  It's a good book!  I haven't finished it yet, but  here's something interesting. To find you natural voice, this is what you do...  say "mmm-hmmm" like you are affirming someone's statement. When you do this, the vibration of sound should be at your lips and nose. If it is vibrating  elsewhere you are probably not using your natural voice. The author says that  a person's voice is created by habit and that if you are not using your natural voice, it is very possible to find it and  regain it through  healthy voice habits.  The author also mentions that if a person is not correctly using their throat and has such habits as supporting their voice with the upper lungs,  physiological problems develop and unneeded stress is created, so it is a good idea to find out if you are using your voice correctly. Hmm some people might be using their voices incorrectly but because of this have unique voices that set them apart from others. It might be worthwhile for those people to keep their voices. Anways, I'm gonna work on this for a while and see what happens, hopefully my natural voice is bolder and manlier in a few weeks.
