Assumptions.
I'm starting to realize that I make a lot of stupid-ass ass-umptions. I read in a book that 9 out of 10 assumptions are simply wrong. I tried to put this through a test and honestly checked how my assumptions faired. So far every assumption I have made have been wrong. Even the most basic assumptions that I thought were so true, were wrong. I wonder how many assumptions I have, based at my core of personal beliefs and viewpoints. It will be fun uncovering all of it. It kinda hurts to know that I am wrong in many instances but lately I'm starting to value learning over being right.

There's nothing wrong w/assumptions. In fact we do it constantly, subconsciously. For instance, video is played at 18 frames/sec to give the illusion of fluid motion. The brain assumes there's motion between each frame. Assumption is essential to life. Another example: Do you wear jewelry? Remember the first time you put on a ring, bracelet, watch, ear ring, or piercing? The first few minutes or hours (sometimes days) the jewelry might annoy you. But after a week, you hardly notice it's there. The brain assumes the jewelry is not life-threatening, so it ignores it. Ok, here's an extreme: you've read and heard stories that black widows are dangerous. But you've never been bit by one. However, you assume what you hear is true, so you stay away from black widows. That's a good assumption, cuz it helps you survive. And that's how assumptions should be used: for survival. Other "trivial" ones such as racist generalities are probably non-essential assumptions that can probably be tossed out. Anyways, report back on how you do w/your paradigm shift.

Report back? yes sir! lol
I know what you are saying. There are some assumptions that are useful and positive and better kept than deleted. I am talking about the non-essential assumptions that I might want to update or delete. I see lately that I worry about alot of things that usually end up to be nothing. These types of assumptions I'd really like to manage a little better. Some other assumptions I'd rather just keep to myself because they are soooo stupid. lol Anyways, I'll work on this some more and let you know if I discover anything new.
One of the biggest rules that i've learned is to never assume (it gets messy at the end of that path!)
wud up dude.. who are u?
