  • there’s something psychologically deflating about lifting max all the time. not only is it stressful and painful trying to lift the most weight possible, it is mentally draining. i might go back to going high reps on lighter weight. build up my confidence. also, i’m getting older, i don’t need this excess weight to drag around everywhere. i mean it looks tougher, but really i’m not really looking to fight in UFC any time soon. maybe i’ll do 1 low rep high weight, then… 1 high rep low weight. just to make sure i get a little of both. a compromise of sorts.
